GPT-4 launched for ChatGPT Plus subscribers: Here’s how its different from GPT 3.5

Here’s how GPT-4 is different from GPT-3.5 and what you can do with this AI chatbot if you are a ChatGPT Plus subscriber.

1. GPT-4 is more accurate

The new GPT-4 offer more accurate results and has subtle differences from GPT-3.5. OpenAI says that GPT-4 produces safer and more useful responses than the previous generation.

2. GPT-4 is more creative and collaborative

OpenAI’s GPT-4 model can get more creative and tackles technical writing tasks with more ease, like when composing songs and writing screenplays.

3. GPT-4 supports visual input

The new GPT-4 supports visual input. This means that your prompt can include images as inputs and the AI chatbot can generate captions, provide a description and analyze the image. Though, the visual input feature has not been released to the public and is being internally tested.

4. GPT-4 can handle 25,000+ words of text

Unlike GPT-3.5, the new GPT-4 is capable of handling over 25,000 words of text. This allows users to create long-form content, search and analyse a large data set.

5. GPT-4 can read web pages

While ChatGPT has not been given access to the internet, the new GPT-4 seemingly gets the ability to read web pages. In an example on the OpenAI website, the prompt given to GPT-4 included a link to a web page and a piece of specific information was sought from this page. The GPT-4 model could correctly provide an answer based on the information from the web page.

6. GPT-4 reduces AI hallucinations

One of the biggest limitations of LLM is hallucinations which are when you get a confident response but it is factually incorrect. OpenAI claims that GPT-4 scored 40% higher than GPT-3.5 in factual evaluations, which significantly reduces hallucination.

7. GPT-4 scores highly in simulated exams

The GPT-4 model has outperformed ChatGPT as it scored higher percentile in exams like Uniform Bar Exam, Biology Olympiad and more. In the Uniform Bar exam, ChatGPT based on GPT 3.5 scored 10% while GPT-4 scored 90%. Similarly, in a Biology Olympiad test, GPT-4 scored 99% over GPT-3.5 which scored 31%.

8. GPT-4 is safer than GPT-3.5

OpenAI says that GPT-4 is 82% less likely to respond to requests for disallowed content and 40% more likely to produce factual responses than GPT-3.5.

9. GPT-4 is only available to ChatGPT Plus members

Unlike ChatGPT based on GPT-3.5, the GPT-4 model is available for ChatGPT Plus subscribers only. In addition, the GPT-4 API will also be available for developers to use in apps and services.
